Hashbrown

DSC_0342

Sassy Hashbrown is the matron of the bunch (and Tater Tot’s mother) so she likes to keep all the other horses in line.

IMG_3388

Trail rides are her specialty and she always takes good care of her riders.

Sagle

Sagle is responsive and always a joy to ride. He likes herding cows, trail rides and pole bending.

DSC_0522

He has a bumpy trot, but everyone loves his smooth canter!

Maggee

Our resident Appaloosa (the spotted horses bred by the Nez Perce Indians of Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington), Maggee loves adventure and she loves to eat!

DSC_0538

She can be a bit stubborn (an Appaloosa trait) but she is an unstoppable teammate when paired with the right rider.

Hilde

Hilde is a Norwegian Fjord – a vikings horse.

DSC_0884

She’s good at herding cows because she won’t let them give her any attitude.  Actually, she won’t let anyone give her any attitude.

She spends the off-season pillaging.

Tater Tot

Our friend TT is descended from a long line of horses named after the potato family (first there was Spud, then Potato, then Hashbrown, then Tater Tot, among others).

DSC_0543

She is tall and fast and fun, but for intermediate riders only.  Sometimes she is the staff lead horse on trails.

IMG_4259

She loves the barrels and is always up for adventure!

Aspen

Aspen is a sorrel Quarter Horse mare, and the youngster of the bunch.

DSC_0026

She is athletic, good at everything (she leads! She follows! She can pole-bend!  She can do barrels! She can be ridden English! She secretly wants to be a polo pony but doesn’t yet understand that you can’t eat the mallet!) and beloved by everyone, horse and human alike.

Sierra

Flashy and quick, our friend Sierra needs a confident rider.  She is always up for an adventure, whether it’s heading cows or going on a long trail ride, but she wants to be in front and getting there first!

Our Retired Friends:

MacGregor

MacGregor is sweet and loyal.  He’s the leader of the herd, so he’s the best at leading trail rides too.

Blaze

Napping is his favorite activity.

But sometimes he’s a good sport and enjoys some pasture exercise.

Red

Red is a charmer and he always takes care of his riders.  Willing and up for anything, he loves long days in the summer sun.

Tybee

Sweet Tybee eats up the ground with his huge stride.  He’s a Tennessee Walking horse and very tall!
